Things To Do
Greaves Farm Caravan Park is set in a quiet rural location to the south of the Lake District National Park on the Cartmel Penninsula just 5 miles from Grange-over-Sands. It offers easy access to the whole of the Lake District and is also within 30 minutes drive of North Lancashire coast and the Western Dales.
The historic village of Cartmel is 3 miles away and is home to the 12th Century Cartmel Priory, traditional Lakeland inns, a variety of individual shops, a Premier general store (open till 8.30pm in the season). Grange-over-Sands (5 miles)
An attractive small town with promenade, public gardens, play area and 2 golf courses close by. Grange offers a wider selection of independent shops and facilities, Lloyds and Barclays banks, a chemist, Co-op and Spar stores, Post Office, Library with internet access. Excellent food shops include Higginson’s Quality Guild Butchers, the award winning Hazelmere Café and Bakery and The Grange Bakery and a specialist greengrocer plus a good selection of cafes and several food take-away outlets.
Kendal (15 miles)
Historic market town combining a modern shopping centre with lots of side streets and yards full of specialist independent shops. Kendal is also home to many high street stores including Marks and Spencers, Boots and Waterstones and most high street banks, there are two out of town shopping areas which include Asda and Morrisons. Places to visit are the Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Museum of Lakeland Life, The Kendal Museum of Natural History and Archaeology, and the Brewery Arts Centre. The Leisure Centre offers a range of sports facilities and our nearest swimming pool.
Bowness-on-Windermere (12 miles)
This is the holiday resort of the South Lakes by day and night with a wide selection of attractions, restaurants and food outlets. It’s also home to the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Royalty cinema.
Ulverston (12 miles)
A traditional country market town with cobbled streets and a street market on Thursdays. Home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum.
