Greaves Farm Caravan Park is set in a quiet location in the south of the Lake District National Park, close to Grange-o-Sands and Morecambe Bay. It gives an easy access to the whole of the Lake District and is also within 30mins drive of the North Lancashire coast and the Western Dales.

The Cartmel Peninsula and the southern Lake District offer many pleasant walks in unspoilt countryside and on the lower fells, the Bay Cycle Way (Route 700) passes close by and the Lakes & Dales Loop.

Cartmel (3 Miles)

A medieval village built around the 12th century Cartmel Priory. It’s also famous for Cartmel Racecourse, speciality food shops, it’s the home of Sticky Toffee pudding, and there are lots of places to eat out from traditional pubs to fine dining and monthly food markets.

Grange-Over-Sands (5 Miles)

An attractive small town with a promenade with spectacular views over Morecambe Bay, public gardens, a play area and 2 golf courses close by. Grange offers a wider selection of independent shops and facilities, a chemist, Co-op, Spar stores, Post Office and a Library with internet access.

Excellent food shops include Higginson’s Quality Guild Butchers, the award-winning Hazelmere Café and Bakery and The Grange Bakery and a specialist greengrocer plus a good selection of cafes and several food take-away outlets. Don’t forget to visit Prom Art which is an arts and crafts fair on the last Sunday of each month (promart.info).

Bowness-On-Windermere (12 Miles)

This is the holiday resort of the South Lakes by day and night with a wide selection of attractions, restaurants and food outlets. It’s also home to the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, the Royalty Cinema and the Windermere Jetty Museum – lakelandarts.org.uk/windermere-jetty-museum

Ulverston (12 Miles)

A traditional country market town with cobbled streets and a street market on Thursdays. Home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum. The roast road from Ulverston meanders along the coast towards Barrow-In-Furness past the beach at Bardsey to Barrow-in-Furness.

It’s home to the Dock Museum which tells the story of Barrow’s shipbuilding past and Walney Island with its nature reserve and unspoilt beaches.

Kendal (15 Miles)

Historic market town combining a modern shopping centre with lots of side streets and yards full of specialist independent shops to explore.

Places to visit are the Museum of Lakeland Life, The Kendal Museum of Natural History and Archaeology, and the Brewery Arts Centre. The Leisure Centre offers a range of sports facilities and our nearest swimming pool.

Kendal is home to many high street stores including M & S, Boots, Waterstones and most high street banks, and out of town shopping areas which include Asda, Morrisons and Sainsburys.
